1.- Identify the free and bound morpheme.

2.- Explain the function or meaning of each morpheme in each cartoon, with your own morphological point of view.

3.- Think about why morphology is used to create this type of comics and provide comment about it.

    a)     They used the personal pronouns as free morphemes and the ron as bound.

//The personal pronouns are used as bounds and the ron is used as free morpheme because in the cartoon they change the personal pronouns but not the ron.

b)    Originally lem was used as noun showing the character in the first panel, then it became fom noun to verb in the following panel giving us the transition of movement (specifically to the word “jumping”) in the second panel as a verb. And at the third panel if went from an action to a result in the past form (as shown in panel number 3).

Noun Verb (transitive verb)

Lem – Free morpheme

img, med - Bound

    c)    In the last cartoon the past, present and future show a free morpheme indicating time, and ure as bound.

//The three grammatical times are used as bounds (see “a)” explanation), and the ure as free morpheme creating a new type of grammatical change.

For this type of comics morphology is great to use as an addon because it helps the author to play with words and it gives us different meanings according to each drawing to show up the morphology changes in the language in order to obtain a better understanding of this.
